JCON OpenBlend Slovenia 2025 is the premier in-person Java community event in Slovenia. Tracing its roots back to 2008, our conference has consistently brought together top-notch domestic and international speakers, evolving through various locations and identities.

Oto Brglez is an experienced software architect, engineering manager and consultant that helps companies build and evolve their products from zero to world dominance. His passion revolves around web applications involving large quantities of fresh data that can be rangled into new and exciting products.
He holds the admin position in the Slovenian Developers Facebook group - currently the most vibrant tech community in Slovenia with more than 14k members. He is also an active advisor of Slovenian Enterprise Found.
He also has 4 Scala certificates and loves to abuse computers and JVM with his functional code and sophisticated types.
Branko Mihaljević is an educator, consultant, manager, and entrepreneur, dealing with Java since 1996. After 12 years of teaching at UNIZG FER, where he received dipl. ing. (MS), Diploma in Study of Management (DSM), mr. sc., and dr. sc. (PhD) degrees, a few years of teaching at Algebra and VERN’ colleges, as well as 7 years acting as a co-owner and CTO of a development company, for the last 7 years he has been working as a College Professor and Research Assistant at RIT Croatia, one of the global locations of Rochester Institute of Technology, and leading his software consulting company.
He gained experience as a consultant, software architect, project manager, development lead, and researcher on various projects in the financial, telecom, traffic, public health, and satellite systems sectors. He is the author of more than a hundred scientific and professional papers, conference presentations, and popular Java-related articles. He collaborated on many research and professional projects, as well as delivered various university courses and professional workshops, and authored many educational materials. He is the president of the Croatian Java User Association (HUJAK).
Luka is a consultant, researcher, software architect and teacher, dealing with Java since early 2000’s. He received a Ph.D. degree in computer science and informatics from the University of Maribor in 2009. He is an Assistant Professor and a Researcher at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, University of Maribor.
Luka’s main research areas are: IT architectures, software quality, effective IS/IT solutions and services development, software engineering, DevOps, development methods, methots for agile development, agile at scale.
In addition to research and teaching, he is also heavily involved in several industry projects, where he can combine both academic background and professional experience.
Urban is an experienced R&D Manager and Head of Products @Kontron Slovenia for Mobile private networks as a bridge between business and technology. He loves building things from concept phase to production phase. His work includes also research and innovation in EU funded projects, software architecture design, platform selection, …
